i) Payment in full of the membership fee; membership certificate is to be valid for one year from the date of issue (usually 1st April to 31st March).
ii) Provision by the practitioner of full credentials for validation are to include:
a) A valid University Degree Certificate
b) professional Registration certificate
c) proof of ID ( Valid Passport/Driving Licence)
d) Proof of residency ( e.g utility bill)
e) Full clinical Practice and contact details
f) evidence of any ongoing CPD training (e.g. documents or training certificates from workshops attended)
iii) Practitioners' insurance (where applicable),
National Insurance number (for British citizens)
iv) For overseas practitioners intending to work in the UK, Passport details, a valid UK work permit and proof of residence will also be required from non-British citizens.
v) Evidence of the practitioner's CPD (Continual Professional Development) log which
can include the following topics (related/relevant to Ayurveda): research,
publications, involvement in teaching, attendance of lectures/conferences and similar.
All relevant documentation as above should be included with your Membership fee and Application form - which can be downloaded from the link provided below - and sent to the address found on the application form or the Contact Us page of this website. Alternatively, the applicant may scan and send the original signed copy of the application form together with the relevant documentation to the General Secretary via email : firstname.lastname@example.org
It is a mandatory requirement for all members to have read and familiarized themselves with the BAAAP Code of Ethics.
Please note : Full Membership can only be granted once all the applicant's details have been checked & verified and all the supplied documents are in order for clearance. Upon which it may take up to 10 days to generate a valid membership certificate which will be sent electronically as a pdf file to the applicant's email address. There is an additional administration charge of £3.00 for those wishing to receive their membership certificate by post.
Membership is offered under the following categories:
These are qualified individual Clinicians and Practitioners holding a Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine & Surgery (BAMS) degree from a recognised Indian or Sri Lankan University, or a University outside India which has been professionally accredited. This category also includes Practitioners holding a BA (Hons) degree in Ayurvedic Studies or a BSc (Hons) degree in Ayurvedic Medicine and who have completed their clinical Internship requirimg a minimum of 1000 hours of clinical training at a recognised Ayurvedic teaching hospital or training institute in India or in UK/Europe.
This category includes Medical doctors who have special interest in Ayurveda as well as fully qualified Ayurvedic doctors based outside UK. (Concessionary rate of £45.00 available to applicants who work outside Europe/USA).
These can be fully qualified Panchakarma Therapists working in the capacity of physician assistants to full Ayurvedic practising members, or Ayurvedic Massage Therapist, Dietician and Wellness Counselors working independently alongside or under the guidance of Ayurvedic Doctors and Practitioners. Therapist membership may also be granted to qualified Complementary Therapists with special interest in providing Ayurvedic Therapies as part of their holsitic practice providing they have been granted accrediation for such practices by the awarding body or recognised Ayurvedic Institution.
Students on an undergraduate degree programme in Ayurveda at an approved unversity in the UK/Europe as well as Internees (as stipulated above in the category of Full members).

Membership is currently offered at only £85 p.a to Full & Associate Members and £65 for the Therapist membership category. Plus additional £3.00 for membership certificates to be sent by post. This amount can be payable to the BAAAP by cheque which is to be sent spearately to the Treasurer's address found on the Contacts page, or you can pay your membership fee via bank-bank electronic transfer. BAAAP has chosen Holistic Insurance Services and negotiated the following terms:
Annual Professional Indemnity Insurance fee: £51 (£74 if Basti is included)
Legal expenses - £15.00 (optional).
